Entanglement-based quantum communication complexity beyond Bell nonlocality

چکیده

Abstract Efficient distributed computing offers a scalable strategy for solving resource-demanding tasks, such as parallel computation and circuit optimisation. Crucially, the communication overhead introduced by allotment process should be minimised—a key motivation behind complexity problem (CCP). Quantum resources are well-suited to this task, offering clear strategies that can outperform classical counterparts. Furthermore, connection between quantum CCPs non-locality provides an information-theoretic insight into fundamental mechanics. Here we connect with generalised framework—beyond Bell’s paradigmatic theorem—by incorporating underlying causal structure, which governs so-called non-local hidden-variable model. We prove new class of tasks associated Bell-like inequalities, whose violation is both necessary sufficient gain. experimentally implement multipartite CCP akin guess-your-neighbour-input scenario, demonstrate advantage when Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states shared among three users.

Quantum steering, entanglement and Bell nonlocality

Quantum steering, the ability of one party to perform a measurement on their side of an entangled system with different outcomes leading to different sets of states for another part of the entangled system arbitrarily far away, is a purely quantum phenomena with no classical analogue. However, it is closely related (and indeed equivalent for pure states) to entanglement and Bell nonlocality. Th...

Quantum Entanglement and Communication Complexity

We consider a variation of the multi-party communication complexity scenario where the parties are supplied with an extra resource: particles in an entangled quantum state. We show that, although a prior quantum entanglement cannot be used to simulate a communication channel, it can reduce the communication complexity of functions in some cases. Specifically, we show that, for a particular func...

Quantum nonlocality is presented often as the most remarkable and inexplicable phenomenon known to modern science which was confirmed in the experiments proving the violation of Bell Inequalities (BI). It has been known already for a long time that the probabilistic models used to...

Nonlocality & Communication Complexity

This thesis discusses the connection between the nonlocal behavior of quantum mechanics and the communication complexity of distributed computations. The first three chapters provide an introduction to quantum information theory with an emphasis on the description of entangled systems. The next chapter looks at how to measure the complexity of distributed computations. This is expressed by the ...
